Something that I love: this song.
Something that I hate: Martini & Rossi Moscato d’Asti
Jamie went to the wine and spirits store at Kroger and they had a taste test between two wines of the same brand. This one tasted better, I don’t know what the other kind was, but Jamie called it very bitter and wouldn’t drink it. He spent $17.99 on a bottle of the Moscato d’Asti and brought it home for me to try.
My journey through life has taught me many things, and some of those things are about wine. I know what I like by trial and error, and have discovered that Lexia by Alice White is my favorite wine. I also know, through experiences that must be for later posts, that a bad bottle of wine produces a bad hangover if you continue to drink it. For instance, if you were to choose to drink both red and white wine and champagne you would have a crazy drunk and a terrible hangover the next day consisting of the worst headache of your life, and possibly vomiting.
I also know that my Gramps’ home-made wine is insurmountable, though his daughter’s is just as good because she learned from the best. But when you can’t have home-made wine, you should find a wine that you like to drink and that makes you feel good while, and after, you’re drinking it. Martini & Rossi Moscato d’Asti is not one of those that you want to buy.
First of all, it tastes absolutely wonderful—one of the best moscato wines that I have ever tasted. But that’s where the goodness ends. At 65 calories per glass, it’s not bad on calories I suppose, but it’s only 5% alcohol by volume. So in order to get drunk, if that’s what you’re for, you’d have to drink the whole bottle, meaning you’d end up drinking 650 calories to get your drunk on. If you’d like to have one glass of delicious wine, go for this. But don’t drink any more than that. Because this wine gives you an immediaheadache and nausea (and later bad news bears). So, just don’t do it. Buy any other moscato than this one.
